Blackpack Leather: Legendary Functionality in Premium Leather
We at Blackpack have been creating bags and backpacks for nearly 10 years. Throughout this time, we’ve been constantly searching for new materials to keep our products stylish, reliable, and practical. Today, however, we’re excited to present new releases we could only dream about until recently.
Meet Blackpack Leather—our first premium leather bag line! We took three of our iconic, well-known, and beloved models—Flex Bag, Urban Bag 1.5, and Every Day Pouch (EDP)—and completely reimagined them in leather.
These aren’t just beautiful accessories. Our goal was to unite the authentic DNA of the brand—uncompromising functionality and technological organization of space—with the unique refinement of natural leather.
The Heart of the Collection: Italian Bruschetta Leather
For this line, we chose exceptional raw material—high-quality Italian vegetable-tanned Bruschetta leather (sheepskin), created using centuries-old Tuscan craft traditions.
What Makes Bruschetta Leather Special?
- Traditional vegetable tanning: This eco-friendly processing method uses natural tannins (plant extracts from tree bark and fruits), preserving the natural, “living” texture of the grain surface. Bruschetta leather has a distinctive, noble natural leather aroma and an exquisite natural grain pattern.
- Perfect balance of softness and density: At a thickness of about 0.6–1.0 mm, it’s exceptionally supple and pleasant to the touch, yet dense enough to impeccably hold the product’s shape and ensure its durability. It has a light moderate sheen on the grain side and a neat, smooth flesh side.
- Living patina effect and noble aging: This is a material that “lives” alongside its owner. Over time and under the influence of sunlight, Bruschetta leather gradually darkens, takes on a deeper shade, and develops a unique patina.
- Absolute uniqueness: Even two identical bags in the same color, purchased at the same time, will look different over time. Slight natural variations in shade and texture aren’t defects—they’re a sign of the authenticity and uniqueness of your accessory.
Color Palette
The new line is presented in four deep, rich colors that perfectly highlight the noble texture of vegetable-tanned leather:
- Black—timeless, universal classic that adds special solidity and elegance to the products.
- Beige—soft, warm, and natural shade that looks exceptionally refined and fresh.
- Ginger—rich, warm color that most vividly reveals the texture and develops an incredible golden-brown patina over time.
- Navy—deep and restrained shade, a wonderful compromise between classic black and bright colors.
How to Care for Vegetable-Tanned Leather?
Since Bruschetta leather is a completely natural material, it requires simple but regular care. This will help preserve its original properties and allow the patina to develop beautifully:
- Protect from extreme conditions: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, strong heat sources, and excessive moisture.
- If the bag gets wet: Don’t dry it on a radiator or with a hairdryer. Blot it dry with a soft cloth and let it air-dry naturally at room temperature.
- Cleaning: To remove dust and light dirt, use a dry, clean, soft cloth (microfiber).
- Special products: Periodically treat the leather with special conditioning creams for vegetable-tanned leather that protect it from drying out and restore its suppleness.
