This set was sent to us by a Flex Bag owner, and we’re publishing it almost unchanged. It’s interesting because there are almost no random items here. Most belong to the buy-it-for-life category—things you buy once and keep: a brass pen that develops patina, a titanium watch, a Zippo made of unpolished brass. There’s also an honest review of the bag itself with a specific suggestion for us. We respond to it at the end.

Sending my EDC for the blog. I’m a fan of your products, so I couldn’t resist the chance to show the items from my Blackpack bag. I also consider myself a kindred spirit of Sashko: I’ve adopted many things and even approaches to life from him, for which I’m especially grateful.
To the point. Actually, I don’t carry all of this constantly—it depends on the situation.
Bag and Wallet
Flex Bag
Came to replace EDC 1: I wanted to try the new material and move away from the tacticool style. The bag is really comfortable, well-organized, and light—everything I imagined. The only thing I’d like to add is another carabiner on the strap in the second compartment of the outer pocket, just like the one for keys, so I can clip my wallet.
Blackpack Wallet
Replaced a heavy and bulky classic leather wallet. Format-wise, it’s exactly what I need.
Tools
Leatherman Charge+
Black. I have a custom bit holder from Zhovtok and Toptul bits from Epicenter—much better than flat ones, truly functional. Yesterday I assembled a table with them and didn’t even take out the big tool set. Though that was more of a test drive: of course, it’s more convenient to do that kind of work with a full-size tool. For me, a multitool is a backup for when you need it here and now.
Microtech Glykon Knife
An out-the-front automatic knife—a thing for the soul. Aluminum and titanium handle, M390 steel blade with the signature Apocalyptic finish. Looks great, practical, very sharp, and has character. I love things like that—with character.
Bought it in memory of my dad, before certain events. For some reason I think that if he had the opportunity, he would have bought me one too.
Gadgets
Garmin Fenix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar Titanium
With MIP display. I have a bike mount for it and use it with a heart rate monitor as a bike computer. Got it on sale when the 8 series came out. I’ve always dreamed of the titanium bracelet specifically: in my opinion, the watch looks great, close to classic. Functionality-wise, it still fully satisfies me. Let’s see what the 9 series brings.

Items for the Soul
Fisher Space Pen
I write rarely; I like the body design more: this version is brass that develops patina. The pen writes underwater and in other harsh conditions—I haven’t tested it myself, but I believe it. It’s a buy-it-for-life item, and I like that concept. Though in Ukraine, any item that’s with you can become one—a topical joke.
Rite in the Rain Notebook
All-weather, made in the USA. I don’t always carry it, sometimes it just sits there just in case. Not exactly essential, more of a feature: cool and convenient format.
Zippo Armor Original
Thicker body, unpolished brass, similar to the very first Zippos. I don’t smoke; this is also a BIFL item. Sometimes I use it to light a burner to make coffee outdoors. I have to refill it every time, but there’s a certain authenticity to that too.
